Mumbai’s New Jogeshwari Railway Terminal to Open in 6 Months!
Big relief coming for Mumbai train travelers! A brand new railway terminal is being built near Ram Mandir (East) and Jogeshwari station. After 2 years of construction work, this ₹70 crore project will be ready in the next six- seven months.
Why This Matters?
- Will reduce crowding at Dadar, Bandra & Mumbai Central stations
- 14 long-distance trains will shift to this new terminal
- May soon host premium trains like Vande Bharat and Tejas Express
- Will improve frequency of local trains for daily commuters
World-Class Facilities
The modern terminal will have:
✔ A 600-meter-long island platform (can hold 24-coach trains)
✔ Two separate lines for smooth train operations
✔ Special power lines for easy train movement
✔ Water refilling system for train coaches
Current Progress
- 70-75% work already completed (worker sheds ready)
- Platform, station building, and track-laying in progress
- Expected to fully open by summer 2025
