Konkan Railway Reports Rs 301 Crore Profit in FY 2023-24, Plans Major Future Projects
Ratnagiri: Konkan Railway has achieved a profit of Rs 301 crore in the financial year 2023-24, with a turnover of Rs 4,077 crore. The railway organization is set to undertake more significant projects in the future, as announced by Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railway, during his visit to Ratnagiri on Monday.
Jha shared this information during a press interaction, where he was accompanied by senior officials including Chief Commercial Manager Ashutosh Srivastava, Principal Chief Engineer Nag Dutt, Chief Public Relations Officer Girish Karandikar, and Divisional Railway Manager Shailesh Bapat. He highlighted that Konkan Railway has achieved 100% electrification, eliminating its dependence on diesel.

This electrification has resulted in a substantial cost saving of Rs 190 crore on diesel expenses. The move is not only environmentally friendly but also economically beneficial. Jha emphasized that transportation and infrastructure projects are the two key areas driving significant revenue for Konkan Railway, contributing to its current profitability.
