Kasara to Manmad New Rail Route: Central Railway Plans 4 Stations & 12 Tunnels – Details Inside
Breaking: New Railway Line Coming Between Kasara Ghat and Manmad!
Big news for train travelers! The Central Railway is planning a brand new railway track between Kasara Ghat and Manmad, covering 140 km. This will be a parallel track to the existing one, making train travel faster and smoother.
What’s the Plan?
- 4 new stations: New Nashik Road, New Padel, Vaitarna Nagar, and Chinchkhaire
- 12 new tunnels to cut through the tough ghat sections
- Budget: Around ₹4,000 crores for the initial plan
- Goal: Save time, reduce fuel costs, and improve connectivity

Why This Matters?
Right now, trains slow down a lot in the Kasara-Igatpuri ghat section. The new line will:
✔ Reduce travel time for Mumbai-Nashik routes
✔ Save fuel for trains (and money for Railways)
✔ Make way for future local train services between Nashik-Mumbai
Who Pushed for This?
Former MP Hemant Godse had been demanding this project for years. He argued that a direct line would cut delays and boost the local economy. Even ex-Railway Minister Raosaheb Danve supported the idea.
What’s Next?
The Railway Ministry still needs to approve the plan. If cleared, this could be a game-changer for Maharashtra’s train network!
